There are some things that you should not give. These are identifying bits of information that you should not disclose to strangers. While this may sound overly-paranoid, I would rather be paranoid and make it hard for people to scam me than be gullible and get scammed over and over again. Criminals will go on the dark web and buy the information you given out. This means you are likely getting scammed without ever getting a phone call or email. Here are the things to never give over to someone, even if they seem nice.
- Bank Account
- Credentials of any site
- Credit/Debit Card Number
- Date of Birth
- Insurance number and provider
- Mother’s Maiden Name
- National ID number (such as Social Security number)
- Photo ID number
- Residence Address (Get a PO Box)
- Scanned birth certificates
- Scanned documents of what not to give
