This is another bitcoin scam, but goes into another direction. The scammer will develop a friendship with you. They also make mention that they do bitcoin investing. They will eventually encourage you to go into bitcoin investing. They may offer that you make a small $500 deposit. They won’t ask for you money but direct you to a bitcoin investment site. You will sign up, and recieve a “wallet”. This wallet is not your wallet, although the site will make mention that this is your wallet. You would deposit money into the wallet, and through webpage coding, they will make it look like you are having a good ROI. If you would want to withdraw your “investment”, they will charge you a tax fee. However, no matter what you do, you will not get any money. This scam is also known as the Pig Butchering Scam.
How do you not fall for this scam? If you were to invest in bitcoin, then go through a reputable site. As with any investment firms, do your homework. Also, do not invest in more than you can afford to lose. As with any investment, there is no guarantee you will make any money. Personally, I will just stick with conventional investing methods.
