There are number of variations of this scam. The base idea is all the same. You are getting money. This could be someone inviting you to invest their money, or some bank account is closed, and the money has to go somewhere. Someone’s family has been slaughtered, and they want to share the money with you – it’s all the same.
The goal is simple. They want as much personal information as they can get. Obviously, they need this information to send you the millions of dollars you have. And that is the goal. They want your information. This will include name, address, telephone number, bank account numbers, and government ID number.
So how do you stop this? Just don’t give out the personal information. You are not special, and you are not unique. People are simply not going to give you millions of dollars because your mother told you that you were special. There is no other way around it.
