You check your email, and you find out that you are a winner of whatever you are a winner of. You didn’t enter into any contests, but hey – you won something. How lucky can you be? This is where they get you. You would likely have to provide personal information, and you credit card information. This is of course is to pay a processing fee, or shipping. This is simply a no no. First, if you didn’t enter into any contest, you would not magically be a winner of said contest that you never entered into. The goal is simple. That is to get your personal information, and your credit card information. Obviously, once you give that – you will eventually have to get a new card number because it is now being sold on the Dark Web.
If you have been reading through this site, you would notice that scammers are after one of/or two things. That is your personal information, and your credit card information. You are not so special that you won something that you never entered into. That is just like winning the lottery when you don’t buy a ticket. What is the chance of you winning the lottery? Right – absolutely none! Why would you be so special to win a prize for a contest you never entered.
